After seeing beauty bloggers Estée Lalonde and Amelia Liana create their dream eyeshadow palettes, I knew I had to make my own. On the lookout for a reasonably priced and animal-friendly makeup brand, I came across Nabla Cosmetics, an awesome vegan and cruelty free company based out of Rome. They have individual eyeshadows for 6,50 € each (about $7). I had a really hard time choosing from their huge swoon-worthy shade range, but ended up selecting eight seductive neutrals: four shimmer shades ("Sandy", "Entropy", "Frozen" and "Dreamer") and four matte shades ("Fossil, "Wild Side", "City Wolf" and "Nocturne"). When you order six or more eyeshadows, they provide you with a free Customizable Palette, but unfortunately they are unable to send them to the U.S., so I used an inexpensive magnetic sewing box instead, which holds them quite nicely. Because I filled this palette with my "dream" colors, I have found myself reaching for it every day. All of the shades are incredibly pigmented and blendable. The shimmer shadows are really finely milled (no chunky glitter), yet they have a nice metallic sheen to them, perfect for all over the lid. The matte shadows are great for blending into the crease, and work well interchangeably with the other shades. While browsing the Nabla site, I also found their Crème Shadows ("Christine" and "Dandy" pictured above), which are an excellent cruelty free "dupe" for the MAC Paint Pots and Maybelline Color Tattoos . They are gorgeous on their own, but also work nicely layered under the pressed shadows, increasing the color payoff and longevity. They don't crease at all, and even lasted through my water aerobics class! Overall, I am in love with these shadows from Nabla, and I look forward to adding more to my collection.
