I have been dying to try one of Anastasia Beverly Hills' coveted Glow Kits for a while, so when I saw their new Sweets Glow Kit, I knew it was time to take the plunge. I am in love with these unique shades, which are, of course, vegan and cruelty free. Last but not least, the theme is perfect (combining my love of sweets with my makeup obsession). P.S. How cute are these delicious vegan macarons from Confectionery?
The Sweets Glow Kit, $40, comes with 4 highlighter shades (pictured above and swatched below). Anastasia Beverly Hills describes them as "A collection of four metallic powder highlighters for intense luminosity. Layer shades of Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit, or wear them separately, on the face and body for a radiant glow."
"Marshmallow"- Intense pear with gold reflect- This is perhaps the most wearable and bright highlight shade for my pale skin, yet its beautiful gold sheen really sets it apart.
"Sassy Grape"- Lavender with blue reflect- I did not expect to love this cool-toned highlighter shade as much as I do. I have been loving layering it over the Milk Holographic Stick on the high points of my cheeks for an otherworldly glow.
"Taffy"- A fusion of peach, pink, and gold reflect- This one is a bit dark for me to wear as a highlight, but truly stands out as an eyeshadow as well as a rosy glow over blush.
"Butterscotch"- Gold with white reflect- Like Marshmallow, Butterscotch is a bit more of a wearable hue. It is stunning on its own or mixed with Marshmallow for a more blinding effect.
All four are extremely buttery and work nicely as both highlighter and eyeshadow. At just $10 per highlighter, I think it is a really good value for the amount of product, especially considering the wonderful quality and pigmentation. Overall, I'm glad I tried this palette, and I'm so excited to add these delectable shades to my beauty arsenal.
